HWR rates every rider on the platform against every other rider in oneheadline number, inspired by the Official World Golf Ranking.Your Rating summarises how well you've ridden acrossthe trails you've raced, and your World rank is your positionon the global leaderboard.
- Only your personal best counts. For each trail, we only count your fastest time. Attempt-spamming doesn't help.
- Each PR earns points based on three things:
- Your rank on that trail: #1 ≈ 100 pts, #2 ≈ 41, #5 ≈ 13, #10 ≈ 5.
- Trail strength: each trail is weighted by the world ranks of every ranked rider with a PR on it (OWGR-style). A trail with many top-ranked riders is worth far more than one with a handful — battle-tested trails win.
- PR age: full weight for the first 13 weeks, then linearly decays to zero over the 104-week window.
- Rating = total points ÷ divisor. The divisor is the number of trails you have PRs on, with a floor of 20. This penalises one-hit wonders, while a full slate of strong PRs beats a long tail of weak ones.
- World rank is your position when every rider is sorted by rating. Tied ratings share a rank (two riders tied at #5 → next rider is #7).
Why "Provisional"? Riders with fewer than 3 qualifying trail PRs in the window get a rating but no world rank yet, because there is not enough data to compare them fairly.
