Description
It's nice & smooth from the starting line, then gets a little chunky/techy with break bumps, roots, & rocks. After that its super fun with a few big berms & tabletops. It's a downhill only trail for mountain bikers so please be aware of potential mountain bikers coming down fast! Quickly pull over if you hear a biker behind you & always be respectful. I'm 200lbs & I burned about 25% on the ride up on a stock XR
Start Point
take caterpillar towards lizard, when it Ts, stay to the right it will say "Lizard Trail"
End Point
stay to the right towards the fire road at the bottom
Directions from Parking to Trail
(click the video walkthrough link for an easy route to follow from the parking lot, to the trail, and back to your car!) you can park at the "white rabbit trailhead" in ashland. From there you're going to take the fire road (ashland loop road) on the south side of the parking area, you'll travel up hill for about 1.1 miles. At the first intersection, you'll see the bottom of lizard trail on your right & (lower)caterpillar trail on your left. Continue uphill on the fire road until you get to the 2nd intersection, once you reach it take a sharp right turn onto (upper)caterpillar trail which travels slightly uphill until you hit a fork in the trail, stay to the right& you're on lizard trail! At the end, make sure you stay to the right! After you finish lizard trail, If you continue straight across the fire road you end up on (lower)caterpillar, which leads you to rabbit hole, the 2nd segment.
